Both figures cover the wider municipality, were calculated by us from a count and a population, and come from police records that count only reported incidents, so read them as floors. For the United Kingdom we track three governments, the US, Canada, and Australia, and all three place it at their second advisory level, increased caution. Their advisories name petty crime and flag pickpocketing and scams aimed at visitors. In a national survey, 78% of people said they feel safe walking alone after dark, a result for the country rather than Liverpool alone.
