Its homicide rate is 17.5 per 100,000, about 10.9 times the median across the cities we track, and reported for the city itself. Robbery is recorded at 335.3 per 100,000, and as with all police data that counts reported incidents only, so the real figure runs higher. The governments we track for the country, Canada, Britain, and Australia, all keep the United States at their lowest advisory level, a contrast with the local crime numbers. Those advisories still flag pickpocketing and scams for visitors. In survey results, 60% of people said they feel safe walking alone after dark, a figure measured for the country rather than Chicago alone.
