Its homicide rate is 1.44 per 100,000, close to the median for the cities we track. That figure pools several years rather than a single one and is reported for the whole municipality, so read it as an upper bound on the city itself. Recorded robbery is 95 per 100,000, a rate we calculated from a police count and an official population. Because police data captures only reported incidents, the true level runs higher. The four governments we track are split: the US and Canada put the Netherlands at increased caution, while the UK and Australia keep it at their lowest level. Every advisory covering the country flags pickpocketing and scams aimed at visitors. In a city survey, 77% of residents said they feel safe walking alone at night.
